The world survives, but I am unemployed

I had to do my first phone interview for a job this week. I read a book to make an attempt to not screw it up. One thing the book suggested was to read the newspaper on the day of the interview, just in case the interviewer wants to warm up the interview.

So on the day of the interview I finally focussed on when the end of the world  predicted the end of the Mayan calender. -- just in case I got any jokes about Friday. Unfortunately I started to get worried about the end of the world and my new knowledge was no help in getting a job.
