My Raspberry Pi

After waiting for perhaps 4 months I got my Raspberry Pi. Yesterday I actually put all the cables in and turned it on.  This computer is meant to be a cheap machine that children can learn to program using it. They are trying to recreate the zx81 generation. I learned how to program on a zx81, where there was no nasty GUI and programming was what you did with a computer.

I don't want to complain, but the linux came with the vi editor, but not emacs. Do they want to bring more vi users into the world?

Of course given that I have a laptop and desktop running linux already, I am not sure how this will help me. I wouldn't mind doing some electronic control experiments.
